Painting in progress

For the first time I am photographing a family portrait as I work. My definition of a finished painting is that I have, to the best of my abilities, erased an unfinished painting. To show all the states of an image I am developing is not painless. I am tempted to add comments like “Today I painted a meaningless blur while Camille’s legs went numb” but I am limiting myself to a record of who modeled on a given day. My struggles will reveal themselves in the photos. I am writing this on July 7 and the painting is not yet half finished, so stay tuned.
